Seaside
Waterford, CT
Seaside is the re-use and renovation of the historic Seaside Regional Center on Long Island Sound as an upscale, age-restricted housing community and public waterfront park. Seaside was originally designed by architect Cass Gilbert in 1934, and is listed on the State and National Register of Historic Places. The project includes the restoration and preservation of some of the historically significant buildings along with new buildings for housing, and preserves shoreline access for the public by creating a public park along Long Island Sound called Cass Gilbert Park.
