Ocean House
Watch Hill, RI
Built in 1868, the Ocean House was one of five grand Watch Hill hotels. The historic structure has been recreated into a first class hotel and residences in one cohesive footprint. The grounds feature a championship croquet court, an events lawn/terrace garden, culinary herb garden, coastal buffer and dune restoration areas, and a beach walk with boardwalk access to the water and the beach pavilion. The site is a dynamic contrast between the formality of the croquet court/event gardens and the adjacent naturally landscaped areas that blends seamlessly with the native coastal buffer vegetation.
