Mike Cegan
Michael A. Cegan, PLA, ASLA, APA
 
Michael Cegan plays a key role in the execution of major development planning and design projects for the firm. A registered landscape architect in the states of Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New York and Vermont, Mike has more than 40 years of experience in areas of landscape architecture, land-use and development planning. Mike's practice spans a wide range of both public and private work. His professional specialties include campus planning and design, institutional and corporate design, educational facilities, park and recreation design, senior housing communities, and urban design. Mike's practice also includes many private residences which incorporate a more personalized approach to the design process.

Mike frequently lectures on landscape design and related subjects and has been a part-time faculty member in the University of Connecticut's Landscape Architecture Program. He also has taught courses in the Landscape Design Study School of the Federated Garden Clubs of Connecticut and was an active member with the Connecticut Chapter of ASLA serving on its Executive Board and on various committees.

Mike's planning and design efforts have been the focus of numerous feature articles in journals and magazines including Landscape Architecture, Architectural Record, Garden Design, Builder, Better Homes and Gardens, Colonial Architecture and Connecticut Magazine. Selected examples of projects under Mike's leadership include: Avon Village Center in Avon, Connecticut; Charter Oak International Academy Magnet School in West Hartford, Connecticut; Stamford K-8 IB Interdistrict Magnet School in Stamford, Connecticut; Perkins Farm/Harbor Heights in Stonington/Mystic, Connecticut; Ocean House Hotel and Resort in Watch Hill, Rhode Island; numerous projects on the Quinnipiac University Mount Carmel, York Hill and North Haven campuses; Glastonbury Riverfront Park Master Plan and phased construction; Connecticut Public Health Laboratory, Rocky Hill; Duncaster Retirement Community, Bloomfield; the Reservoir at 1401, West Hartford; Downtown New Britain Streetscape Master Plan and phased construction; Historic Eastern Pequot Tribal Nation Community Master Plan; Union Carbide Property Master Plan, Danbury; and numerous private residences.
