Bill Richter
William C. Richter, AIA, ASLA
William Richter brings to the firm a unique blend of design competencies along with a multi-faceted view of project planning, design and development – a unique perspective that has been central to Richter & Cegan's success and position in the profession.

A registered architect with over 46 years of experience in architecture, urban design, planning and landscape design, Bill specializes in urban design and larger more challenging planning and design projects with a focus on place-making and development of public space. Bill knows that individuals as well as organizations need to be multi-talented to succeed in today's highly competitive environment. His involvement enables Richter & Cegan to function more effectively as a primary consultant on today's more complex development projects. And he brings these skills to all his campus, educational, residential, downtown, institutional and recreational projects.

A recipient of international, national and local awards for excellence in planning and design, Bill has been involved over the years in many outstanding projects. Selected examples include: Sandy Hook Elementary School; Pitney Bowes Shelton Campus Green; Pennsylvania Avenue Development Plan for downtown Washington, DC; Reston, Virginia Town Center planning project; the restoration/expansion master plan of historic Cedar Hill Cemetery in Hartford; Hartford Riverfront Master Plan and phased construction; Downtown Improvements Streetscape in Danbury and Bridgeport, Connecticut; the renovation and expansion of the historic Olmsted Seaside Park in Bridgeport; the CTfastrak Stations from Hartford to New Britain; Hartford Latter Day Saints Temple; and the new tower at the UConn Health Center.

In addition, Bill has worked on university and college campus design projects at The University of Connecticut, Storrs; The University of Connecticut Health Center, Farmington; Central Connecticut State University, New Britain; Eastern Connecticut State University, Willimantic; Southern Connecticut State University, New Haven; Western Connecticut State University, Danbury; University of New Haven, West Haven; Sacred Heart University, Fairfield; Goodwin College, East Hartford; Norwalk Community College, Norwalk; Asnuntuck Community College, Enfield; and Naugatuck Valley Community College, Waterbury. Bill has gained invaluable experience from the design and planning of many significant public, corporate, office, business and recreational projects along with several large scale residential communities from Massachusetts to Georgia.
