West Hartford/Farmington, CT
Westfarms is a 1.3 million square foot premiere regional shopping center originally opened in 1974. The center was expanded in 1997 to include a total of 160 fine shops and services along with five major retailers as anchor stores. Richter & Cegan was responsible for site planning and design work for the expansion. Additional plantings and other landscape improvements were added at key locations. In order to reduce the amount of pavement, reinforced turf was installed for parking only used during the peak shopping seasons.
