Went Field Park
Bridgeport, CT
Went Field Park is a 10 acre site located on Bridgeport's West Side. The existing park consisted of six acres of softball fields. The project included demolition of four acres of abandoned industrial structures and resulting brown field remediation. The park improvements include a community plaza and promenade which link surrounding neighborhoods, an expanded children's playground, pavilion, pergola and expanded parking. Expanded athletic facilities serve the community as well as the neighboring Bassick High School and Elias Howe Elementary School.
