Niantic Bay Overlook
East Lyme, CT
This waterfront project reunites Niantic with its shoreline after having been separated from Niantic Bay for many years by Amtrak railways. An accessible scenic walkway, approximately one mile long, parallels the shoreline. Ramps and stairs provide access down to the beach. The 14' wide walkway is both on an embankment and an elevated boardwalk. Overlooks provide viewing points with educational signage in addition to turnaround areas for emergency vehicles.
